Electricity : Rhode Island
On January 1, 1998, electric generation in Rhode Island was opened to competitive supply; however, rates were capped so low that no real competition occurred. Recently electric rate increases were approved to keep pace with rising fuel costs and customers can now benefit by switching to a competitive supplier. Many of our customers have successfully been placed into competitive supply programs designed to meet the specific needs that businesses face in Rhode Island, given the current utility rate structure and regional market dynamics. Patriot Energy representatives are available to explain the available pricing options and to guide you through the competitive supply process.
