Louis Frate President and Chief Executive Officer
Louis Frate serves as the co-founder, co-owner, and CEO of Patriot Energy Group, Inc. Since co-founding Patriot Energy Group, Louis has grown the company, as its only President and CEO, into one of the top business energy management firms in the country, with more experience navigating the restructured marketplace than any other firm.
Louis brings a wealth of industry knowledge and over two decades of experience in sales and business development. Louis has extensive experience growing successful sales organizations in several regions of the United States, targeting small & medium commercial and industrial customers.
As a seasoned executive, he has personally designed some of the most innovative strategies today's volatile energy market has to offer. He is also one of the industries pioneers in developing the energy “broker” model of representing clients. Lou has opened several offices located throughout the northeast and elsewhere, with plans to keep growing.
Previously, Louis held the position of Vice President of Southeast Sales for a publicly held telecommunications provider. In that role, Louis managed $72 million in annual revenue while overseeing the hiring and training of a staff of two hundred people in multiple states. He was also responsible for overseeing the allocation and logistics of three Voice and Data Switching and Storage co-location facilities in Miami, FL; Orlando, FL; and Norcross, GA.
He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Merrimack College in Andover, Massachusetts.
David Berardi Chief Operating Officer
As Chief Operating Officer David Berardi is responsible for Patriot Energy Group's vision, strategy, and leadership. He has played an integral role in transforming the business into a high-level full energy services company. One of his most prominent contributions has been to connect grid activity, energy intelligence, and supply management with demand side management, which has impacted how end users buy, use and manage energy.
Prior to joining Patriot Energy Group, David served 25 years as a Global Executive with Schneider Electric, most recently holding positions as Senior Vice President in Schneider Electric's North American Operation, and Managing Director of their United Kingdom and Ireland Building Business. With a passion for energy and the environment David brings extensive strategic and operational leadership experience and expertise in building technologies, energy management, building analytics, and system integration.
David received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Maine, and has continued his advanced executive education at some of the top business schools including; INSEAD in Fontainebleau France, the Cranfield School of Management in Bedfordshire, UK, and the Harvard Business School.
Dave received his Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Maine, and has continued his executive education at some of the top international business schools including; INSEAD in Fontainebleau France, the Cranfield School of Management in Cranfield, UK, and the Harvard Business School.
Jude Capachietti Vice President of Finance
Jude Capachietti serves as Patriot Energy Group's Vice President of Finance. He is responsible for finance and accounting, and oversees the day-to-day management of all financial matters.
Jude has developed a strong background with companies across multiple industries. He brings more than 20 years of financial experience to Patriot Energy Group, along with his extensive experience with internal controls.
Previously he served as MFS Institutional Advisors Divisional Controller for MFS Investment Management, a global investment manager (formerly known as Massachusetts Financial Services) in Boston, Massachusetts. Prior to that he assumed the role of Assistant Corporate Controller at Art Technology Group, Inc., an internet technology company that specialized in ecommerce software and on-demand optimization applications.
Jude holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Boston University and earned his MBA in Accounting at Northeastern University's Graduate School of Business Administration.
Brian White Director of Sales
Brian White has spent over a decade of his career in the energy industry. As Patriot Energy Group's Director of Sales, he has been instrumental in the company's growth and development as one of the top energy consulting firms in the country. As the Director of Sales, he is responsible for multiple teams whose objectives are to identify new clients, provide superior value, and keep Patriot Energy Group's clients satisfied with their decision to use Patriot Energy as their energy consultant.
Brian is heavily involved with product development and implementation of all new offerings as well as helping businesses select a strategy that fits their needs while determining the right amount of risk.
Brian earned his degree in from Worcester State.
Danielle Gianino Director of Commodity Services
Danielle Gianino is Patriot Energy Group's Director of Commodity Services, and has been with the company in various capacities since 2004. In her current role, she serves as the primary point of contact with energy suppliers. Danielle oversees product development, commercial relationships between Patriot Energy Group and energy suppliers, and customer issue resolution.
In addition, she supervises the Pricing Team, which negotiates clients' retail contracts with licensed suppliers, the Account Management Department, and the Client Relations Division. She was also instrumental in the opening and supervision of Patriot's branch office in Stamford, Connecticut.
Danielle holds a bachelor's degree in economics, with a concentration in business, from Assumption College.
Craig Wall Director of Energy Services
Craig Wall, Director of Energy Services, is responsible for the strategy, training, implementation, and overall growth of the energy services provided through Patriot Energy Group. He is leading the company's solar, efficiency, and integrated solutions program development. In the five years prior to becoming Director of Energy Services, Craig managed Patriot's successful channel partner agency program, providing education, training, and assistance to support channel sales. In this role, he worked with clients to effectively manage their risk to volatile electricity and natural gas commodity markets.
Before joining Patriot Energy Group, Craig spent 6 years with Clear Channel Outdoor. He was responsible for the overall growth and direction of his customers marketing initiatives, brand image, and customer acquisition through outdoor and integrated advertising.
Craig Wall holds a bachelor's degree in finance and management from the Eller School of Business at the University of Arizona. He is also a founding board member of The Energy Professionals Association Northeast chapter and currently serves as the standards and compliance chair for Patriot.
Max Bowers Regional Director of Sales
Max Bowers serves as Regional Director of Sales for Patriot Energy Group. He initially served as a Branch Manager for Patriot Energy Group's West Springfield office. Under Max's leadership, new business sales increased exponentially, earning West Springfield the Top Branch of the Year award in 2014. In 2015 Max was promoted to Director of Satellite Sales, in charge of managing all of Patriot Energy Group's remote branch offices serving Harrisburg, PA; Philadelphia, PA; Brunswick, ME; and Springfield, MA.
As a retired Senior Military Officer who served with distinction for over 20 years, and seasoned professional in private industry, his unique experiences have made him a welcome addition to Patriot Energy Group.
Carla Whalen Director, Organizational Development and Human Resources
As Director of Organizational Development and Human Resources, Carla leads the company's HR and learning and development strategies. She and her team are responsible for all people focused initiatives, collaborating with leadership to implement programs that drive company growth, individual excellence, and enrich Patriot Energy Group's culture. She is passionate about helping employees connect with corporate culture and vision, and creating an environment where employees are able to thrive.
Prior to Patriot Energy, Carla held leadership positions at ValueOptions (now Beacon Health Options), the nation's largest independent behavioral health and Wellness Company, and the Boston Globe.
Matt Kinney General Council
Matt Kinney, in-house Counsel, has been with Patriot Energy Group since 2011. Along with Patriot Energy Group’s legal and regulatory team, he is responsible for advising Patriot Energy Group’s executives and staff on legal, regulatory, and business matters, including regulatory compliance and advocacy, transactional matters, intellectual property, and corporate governance, among others.
Prior to joining Patriot, Matt had extensive experience in various capacities in the legal/regulatory and back office operations realms of the telecommunications industry.
Matt received a B.S. in Mathematics from Syracuse University, a M.S. in Education from Canisius College, and a Juris Doctor from New England School of Law.

The Doug Clifford Award
Douglas Clifford was a dedicated employee of Patriot Energy Group in our Dallas, Texas office. In his time at Patriot Energy, Doug inspired those around him both professionally and personally. With his warm smile and shining personality, Doug was a pleasure to know, both as an employee, and as a friend. Tragically, Doug passed away in 2007 from an unfortunate accident. Patriot Energy Group honors Doug and his spirit annually by distributing the Doug Clifford award. This award honors an employee who, like Doug, went above and beyond expectations, and sets an example to those around him/her with achievement and excellence. We hope to keep Doug's spirit alive through this award for many years to come.
